Review: Younique Moodstruck 3d Fiber Lashes

This Fiber lash mascara by Younique keeps popping up on my news feed, so I just had to give it a whirl.

So is it Yeh or Neh?

What is it?
#1 transplanting gel
It's a mixture of water, beeswax, Brazilian Palm glue, collagen and iron oxide.

#2 natural fibers
100% green tea fibers

How do you use it?
This is the best way I found to use it without any fallout.
#1 curl your lashes
#2 coat lashes in your own none waterproof mascara
#3 use transplanting gel on tips only
#4 use fibers on the tips only and don't over do it or it will look like a total clusterf*ck
#5 use a light coating of transplanting gel on the tips again
#6 lastly use a light coating of your own lengthing waterproof mascara to keep the lash curl, secure the fibers and separate the clumps, you can also use a pin for the separating.

Disadvantages
#1 A little time consuming
#2 Over the top packaging, maybe if it was a more basic packaging it would bring the price down
#3 The price at £23 might put some people off
#4 Fallout under the eyes

Yeh or Neh?
Yeh!!! Even though there are a few disadvantages and you need a lesson on how to use it best, the results are obvious. I love this mascara. I had been wearing the lash extensions so I was paranoid that my lashes where really short but this has helped me through my lack of lash dilemma. It really does lengthen and thicken the lashes. It's so much better than wearing false lashes and it doesn't damage your lashes. I will rebuy, and this will be added to my makeup bag for sure.

10 things not to do in the gym

I thought I was going to have to do some sort blog on that new year new you bullshit, but instead I thought I lighten the mood with my top ten gym fails and I've experienced every one of them.

#2 Don't try and make conversation with me while I'm on the treadmill. I am already struggling to get oxygen into my lungs and anyways if you can talk and run on the treadmill you should be in cirque du soleil as you have amazing coordination.

#3 Do not get caught checking out other girls, we know it's either "where'd she get thon gym gear" or "wtf she doing to get thon buttocks so perky" but if caught #epicfail

#4 Due to continuously choosing the wrong sports bra, you've either stiff nip or wondering tits both good reasons to ditch the workout. After all the girls need support.

#5 The sniff test - whether your doing pull-ups, chest press or scissors (is that even a type), have a wee test of the underarm. #dontstink

#6 Planning your gym workout around your leg hair growth. I know we don't like to admit it.... but we defo don't want to be doing those elastic band leg pully up things with your p/t on 3 day hair growth. Enough said

#7 check in the mirror that le camel toe isn't making an appearance

#8 be careful that you check you don't have a visible thong through those cheap sweat pants

#9 I'm sure there are a few that have experienced the dreaded ass or worse crotch sweat prints we leave on the machines after we've been doing some extreme workouts, just do what I do and swiftly swipe your towel over the seat just as your getting up. #dontleavethemachinedrippin

#10 While in high speed sprint Don't hit the emergency stop on the treadmills or you will end up in the next room.

Keep it neutral

I'm always drawn to a neutral palette, it's easy to wear when you want to look polished but not made up.

I'm in love with the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics. It comes in 6 neutral shades, 5 matts and 1 soft shimmer. £22

Slightly obsessed with Nars blush in Orgasm, made with transparent pigments for a soft and sheer look, it's a beautiful peachy blush and Kim Kardashians personal favourite. Available from space.NK. Apotheory - £22.50

For a bold pout that will give Kylie Jenner some competition try Urban Decays Revoultion lipstick in Rush and use with Urban Decay 24/7 glide on lip pencil that does not budge. It's a great combination for more defination with the slight colour difference.

Urban Decay Revolution lipstick, Rush - £15
Urban Decay 24/7 glide on lip pencil, manic - £13
Both available from www.debenhams.com

My Little Cosy Box

My next "Little box" which was Novembers turn (I know sorry I'm a little late) will make you want to just keep your Pj's on and stay in bed, for the whole month. The cosy box is full of  comforting surprises.

The super cute polka dot heating pillow "My Little Bouillotte" by Tsumori Chisato is perfect for those chilly winter nights, just pop in the microwave for 5 mins and place it under your bed covers 10 mins before you get in. Or if you have any pets, do what I do and put it in their wee beds to keep them cosy.

I just love this little hot chocolate mug, not too big so you won't completely overindulge.

Now the mascara I know I had my reservations about the "My Little Beauty" range last month with the cleanser but this mascara "Mascara Soin Et Volume" is absolutely excellent, leaves your lashes pumped up with volume and wont smudge or smear under your eyes throughout the day.

Crayon Eyeliner Ultra Tenue waterproof in 001 Noir.
This is actually probably the best eyeliner I've used in a while. Lasted on my eyes from 7am-10pm (I know workaholic) without being topped up. I will be adding this to my overflowing makeup bag/room for sure. It's priced at £6.65 and is available to buy from

I had never even heard of this range before until I received this. Yves Rocher is a French company and is very affordable. I tried out the Intense Color Single eye shadow in Brun Cafe Mat. It's a creamy powder texture which has an intense, colour, easy to smoke out and long lasting considering it's only £13.20, but I checked their web site http://www.yves-rocher.co.uk/control/main/ and they are having a -50% sale so you can buy it for £6.60. Check out this web site it's defiantly worth a look.

My little box

There are loads of these beauty surprise boxes going about. I decided to try "My Little Box" which is based in Paris. Basically you pay £11 per month plus p&p, so it works out for me £13 per month. The products inside are said to be worth £65.  So each month a little box of beauty and fashion surprises arrive for you. It contains 2 full sized beauty products one of which is from their own beauty brand "My Little Beauty Brand", a travel sized product and some fashion and lifestyle accessories.

I had my first box about 2 weeks ago. It was the DVF box.

Although I did like my first box, I'm not sure on their own beauty range. I'm going to do about 4 boxes and then decide if its a keeper.

This is an extreme hold spray, -just what I need living with Ireland's climate. Extreme hold for both controlled volume or radically structured styles it works both ways! An ultra-sensorial formula which basically means it guarantees great shine and provides a powerful anti-humidity shield. I basically just applied this hairspray in a halo onto dry hair for best results.

The "Eau Micellaire" cleanser is from  "My Little Beauty", it's a face and eye cleanser which is very gentle in the skin. I thought this was just OK as my skin felt a little tight after I used it, so basically I wouldn't buy it again. It's made with Aloe Vera

L'Occitane vanilla hand cream in a mini size which wont last very long! Being a makeup artist my hands are constantly being washed therefore they feel a little like an old pair of cowboys boots at times and are even more dry now in winter, so this will be great to keep in my bag and use on the go. Plus cant beat the gorgeous smell.
Made to nourish and protect your skin. Rich in 10% shea butter, this hand care, with its light melting texture, helps sooth and hydrate hands.

Now onto my favourite item, my DVF scarf.  This is a specially designed scarf for my little box and subscribers either receive it in a green, black or red which is the one i got. The scarf is made from a silk imitation 100% polyester. In the envelope there is lots of little illustrations by the awesome illustrator Kanako showing you different ways to wear your DVF. You can view more of these really cool illustrations here

Love, love, love this scarf

I will review to other boxes in the next few weeks so you's can decide yourself if you want to give it a go. Check out their webpage below.

The Era of the eyebrow

It is the Era of the eyebrow, but does your brow shape flatter your face. Like think of it this way, you'd go to an experience hair stylist and that experienced hair stylist doesn't knock out one hair style to suit everyone. Well. The same goes for the brows, use an experienced beauty therapist and she will groom your brows to suit your face shape. Therefore this will flatter your good features and soften your not so good features.

OVAL

The perfect face shape

-Face gracefully tapers towards chin
 -wider forehead
-prominent cheekbones
-an ideal face shape

Eyebrow solutions

GOAL: is to maintain this overall face shape
SOLUTION: is to work with a soft angled eyebrow. This is best to maintain the oval shape

LONG

-face gracefully tapers down towards chin area
-elongated feature from forehead to chin
-some have a more prominent chin

Eyebrow solutions

GOAL: to make your face shape appear shorter
SOLUTION: is a flat eyebrow shape. its horizontal view would change the viewers perception and change how they see the elongated face, making it appear shorter.

ROUND

-face width and length almost the same
-widest at the cheek area

Eyebrow solutions
GOAL: to make the rounded head appear longer
SOLUTION: a high arch is need with the brows. Its up and down lines would draw the viewers eye up and down and lengthens it. It then creates a more vertical line. Avoid rounded brows, obviously

SQUARE

-the forehead ,cheekbones and jawline are almost the same width
-square and bony jawline is the prominent feature

Eyebrow solutions
GOAL: To soften and balance the strong jaw features
SOLUTION: Depending on the kind of jawline start with the curved eyebrow shape then add more and more angle to it to create some sort of balance. The stronger and more bony jawline is the more angled brow shape. A defined shape peak at the top will make it appear longer.

HEART

-face strong and tapered towards chin
-chin tends to be pointy
-forehead is usually a prominent feature of the face

Eyebrow solutions
GOAL: to soften and balance the strong pointed chin area and also the prominent forehead
SOLUTION: forehead will usually be the widest on area on the face. Depending how prominent the forehead, start with a low arch and round brows then add more volume to it as will add more length to the forehead and well as balancing out the chin area.

DIAMOND

-face highly angular and somewhat bony
-widest at temples
-not as common compared to other face shapes

Eyebrow solutions
GOAL: to soften the whole face and make the widest portion less wide
SOLUTION: a curved eyebrow shape. Its curves will soften the angled face and reduce the widest area which is the temples.
