Perfect teeth are always in style. In fact that is probably the first thing we notice when we meet someone for the first time.  I wouldn't have considered  my teeth the worst teeth but when flicking though the pages of Grazia and seeing pearly perfect teeth of the likes of Angela Jolie, Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell I thought to myself that my over lapping front teeth could do with a little smile surgery.  

I priced around a few dentists throughout Northern Ireland and finally came to Tandragree Dental Surgery, they could offer me a 6 months smile for £850. This was the best deal I found and fortunately my friend had already started her treatment with Brian and was more than happy. So I decided why not, I work hard enough after all.  

My First appointment was just a consultation, where Brian talked over my different options and explained all the details of the treatment. Also which I thought was great, I could pay the £850 off over the duration of my visits. I thought perfect, at least ill not have to put the £850 straight away. 

When I first had them put in I did experience some slight discomfort but with the wax I was given to put around the areas of the brace that was sticking into my gums, well it didn't really last that long.  

The brace itself is a white wire with white brackets. Actually, when they where first put in they weren't that noticeable was so concerned about being 31 with  mouth full of braces, even  though I might have to go into hiding for the next six months but thankfully it didn't come to that. 

The main problem with the brace was the staining. Curry, tomato based foods and red wine will be off the menu, that’s for sure. I had to take my tooth brush everywhere with me as I was constantly paranoid of looking like a swamp monster.  

When I have them removed after 5 months, yes one month early, it filled me with extreme happiness. Well, I was ecstatic, I loved them. I no longer had the geeky uneven smile and now have a smile to rival Angelina herself.

Blue eye shadow was everywhere for Spring/Summer 2014 from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Anna Sui to Prada everyone was in a blue mood.  

Ok blue eyes, my first thought is Eighties disco fever or the local beauty therapist (who should have retired years ago) with her blue  

shimmer eye shadow , pastel pinks lips and powerfully applied rouge. But it all depends on how you keep it modern. 

The Trick for making the blue look modern 

• Always keep cheeks and lips lighter, to let the eyes really stand out. 
• Never use too much shimmer or you will be transcended back to that 80’s disco. I think the matte shades work best in the crease and up to the brow bone.  
• Never match your blue eyes to your eye shadow, always try a different shade of blue to make your eyes pop. 
• Always blend, blend, and blend. To save it from looking cheap use a professional brush. No licking the fingers please  
• Always use softer more matte hues on mature ladies and keep the vivid shimmery shades to the youngsters. But over 60 should avoid this colour altogether.

After seeing Kim Kardashian revel her makeup artists contouring secrets, suggesting that she isn’t actually totally perfect (just about 99.9%). We were all straight onto YouTube tutorial’s to reproduce Kim’s killer cheekbones.

I’m the first to admit I avail of a bit of contouring, it can emphasize your best features and disguise your worst. Though some people do take it to the extreme! The only time I would really use extreme contouring is when I’m doing a shoot. If you think of it this way your out on a night out with your full on contouring which has completely transformed your face, to give you super model looks,  you meet Mr Right or Mr Right now, he thinks your stunning, the next day when he sees you “Au natural “ he thinks wtf happened to my Scandinavian model with the perfect bone structure.

Today I’m going to contour my face using Karaja virtual beauty compact powders in no.1 & no.2. When you use a powder its a more natural take on contouring.

Virtual beauty No. 1 is a compact trio - white, pink and lavender - this can be used for high lightening your best features, it can also be used as a powder to seal your foundation as it is very finely milled it doesn't emphasize any fine lines or pores.

 Virtual beauty No. 2 is also a compact trio - cream, beige and tan - this can be use for disguising your not so good features.

A few point s to remember when contouring

1.        Apply contouring powder No. 2 (darker on the outside and working light as you move away from the hairline. Shading the edge of the hairline will frame you face and if you, like myself don’t have the perfect 3 finger forehead (more like a 5 finger) it will minimize the size.

2.        A good tip that helps me when i’m contouring the face is always try and make an oval face, therefore contouring out any sharp edges.

3.        Always highlight in the triangle of light above.

Don’t you just think this past year or so, everyone has become so obsessed with perfect luminous skin. All the A-listers make sure they are glowing at all times. It is priced at £38 pound but is on offer on www.orlaghmaye.com for £28 until August. It comes in a black box which is glamorous enough, but when you open this and come across the beautifully designed clear diamond like jar, well let’s just say it will look good on your vanity table.

The below image shows the product 3 hours after application and with a light hand wash. 

 The perfect thing about this is there is no transfer so you can hug your friends, wear that little black dress or sit on your posh friends vintage chair without leaving a trail of shimmer behind. Even when I spilled my over priced but totally delicious cocktail over my leg, it didn't seem to budge. So I would imagine that if I was on holidays I could wear it to the beach and still be able to get in and out of the water. After a shower and wash with body wash it does easily come off.
